Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up in an multiethnic family. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is Sri Lankan. She has two elder brothers, and two younger ones. Due to the civil war in Sri Lanka that the family made the decision to relocate to Bahrain. She received a scholarship to study at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her education in Bahrain. To further develop her love of cultures, languages and other languages, she joined the Berlitz schools of languages where she was able to master Spanish as well as improve French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed in the Miss Universe 2006 and Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she won the title in 2006.
